Hey Reader,
“Really? In the bedroom?” Noah asks. Well, it’s not really in the bedroom. It’s in the weird cubby behind the bedroom door. More like the hallway from the living room to the bedroom. Why not make that a kitchen pantry?
When your condo kitchen is this tiny, you have to get creative. Our lower cabinets consist of one bank of drawers; otherwise, it’s the oven, dishwasher and under the sink which we all know is where the garbage goes. (I’ll fight you on this.)
We have more space with our upper cabinets, but they aren’t that deep. I’m obsessed with these Oxo Containers and they don’t even fit two deep on the shelf. It’s heartbreaking. Plus, the cabinets go up to the ceiling and even at 5’7” I can’t reach the top shelf.
I’m still figuring out which ingredients get to live in the kitchen and which ones are ‘banished’ to the bedroom pantry. It’s weird not having everything I need in a kitchen designed specifically for baking.
Anyone else have a kitchen that’s split up? How did you decide where everything lives? Where is the most random place that you keep extra kitchenware?
I’ll keep you posted,
Stephanie
